Make Solar Panels
"The Easy And Safe Method to Make Solar Panels"
Make Solar Panels with the Green DIY Energy - Guidebooks & Video Series Reviewed
Hey, Jason here,
I’m a computer science teacher. I was teaching my students how to make websites when a friend said I should try and make a “real” website. Which is how the Go Earth Energy project began.
If you want to make solar panels you need to read this review. This is my uncensored review of what I really thought about the Green DIY Energy guide to make solar panels.
Note, that this a review...
...if you’re looking for the official Green DIY Energy website then click here.
Why am I writing this? Well, I had already been burned by another product with a fancy sales page that claimed I could make solar panels for cheap. That product was total garbage. A while back, that same friend and I took our families to this rustic cabin.
It was great, but of course, no electricity. We were talking about how we could get a cabin and of course power it with solar and wind electricity.
You will NOT learn to make solar panels from watching YouTube
When we got back to civilization I started searching Youtube and all the government sites. I learned a lot about the benefits solar energy and I watched a guy nearly cut off his thumb in his "DIY" YouTube video. He had no clue how unsafe he was with tools, and I was supposed to trust him with electricity? Yeah right.
There are a lot of reviews out there, but not many I felt I could trust. So after more web surfing I came across the Green DIY Energy site and took a chance with their guide book. Believe me, after my first experience I was hesitant. However, I scored big time and go so much more than I bargained for.
So, I figured I’d write a review that was upfront and honest, to help any of you who are in the same position I was.
But be warned, I’ll be going into both the good and the bad points, so if that’s something you might not want to hear, then you may as well leave now.
I wanted to make portable solar panels that I could use for camping. Honestly, I wanted to learn how to do it for free. Well...you get what you pay for. Green DIY Energy taught me how to build the portable solar panels that I was interested in making. Of course you could make solar panels for any need you might have. Supply auxiliary power to the garage, a shed, RV, cabin, or a boat.

Like I said earlier, you get what you pay for and Green DIY Energy is not free. They make the claim that you can build a solar panel for under a $100.00 dollars. You may or may not be able to make solar panels for under a $100 bucks. It really depends on what you have lying around in your garage.
A recent search on Ebay showed un-tabbed solar cells for about $1.10 each and pre-tabbed solar cells for about $1.80 so your final price may vary. But, it is doable.
The guides focus teaching you how to make solar panels safely for use with a battery back up system NOT grid tied energy system. For me this was good, because I wanted something portable. This is also important to note because there is a difference between grid tied and battery tied solar energy. Before I bought this product, I didn't know everything that was involved in building a solar energy system.
Here’s a rundown of what you’ll get with Green DIY Energy Package:

What are the negatives?
Well, there’s not much that I can say about it that’s bad. It’s not free and it doesn’t do the work for you. However, for a fraction of the cost you can make solar panels yourself. You will have to do some research. You will have to get all of the materials together. That means, ordering some photovoltaic cells from Ebay and heading over to Home Depot for materials. Even though the guidebooks and videos walk you through the process step by step you will still need to draw up a plan. The better your plan the less mistakes, and let’s face it, electricity is not something you want to make a mistake with.
In Conclusion
Green DIY Energy is a great product. If you’re looking to make solar panels to save on home energy or to power up an RV, camper, or cabin then you can’t go wrong.
