Making Solar Panels for Cost Effective Energy is Easier Than You Think
The Go Earth Energy Solution...
Over the past couple of years, a whole host of DIY solar panel guides have come online. You can build your own solar panels and save money. It's really not all that hard. A few simple tools, some time, and a good guide will have you producing your own energy sooner, rather than later. However, as with most products, some are great and some are really bad. We've separated the posers from the producers and we continue to re-evaluate these products as they improve.
What are the benefits of using alternative energy sources?
- Lower your energy bills
- Reduce your carbon footprint
- Get paid by the utility company
Many guides claim that you will save $1000's of dollars in energy bills. Many claim that you can build your own solar panels for less than $200.00 using supplies from your garage or hardware store.
The question is... Do they really live up to their claims?
Building and using alternative energy starts with the right guide. Start saving today.
Solar Energy In Context
Learning how to build a solar panel is both easy and cost effective. In the past it's been grossly expensive to install a solar energy system in your home. If you're planning on tying your solar panel system into the grid you could be looking at a huge investment. In my research, it seems that most people quit the idea when they start hearing estimates of $25,000 or more! I don't have that kind of money lying around, and I assume neither do you.
Let's Put Things Into Perspective
Think about it for a second, a professionally manufactured solar panel can cost upwards of $1000.00 per panel. Depending on your home and energy needs you could be looking at 15 panels or more. That's $15,000 just for the panels. Now, add in the cost of the accessory equipment, (power inverters, voltage monitors, etc) the contractor costs and suddenly your project begins to double or even triple in price. If the solar energy system cost $30,000 and you saved $100.00 per month it would take upwards of 25 years to pay itself off. You begin to see why most home owners don't bother with solar energy.

The Reasonable Alternative
If you're handy with tools and like to build things. You can do most of the work yourself. You may need to hire an electrician or bribe some friends into lending a helping hand, but it's totally possible. Here's the great part. You can create a plan that takes some of your electricity needs off the grid. Using a battery powered off grid system you can power up, for free, non-essential electrical devices. You can power the fridge or freezer in the garage, or the yard lights and automatic sprinklers, the pool heater and pump. These are just some ideas of ways you can reduce to montly bills and get free energy from the sun.
